Hi, my name is Matthew Berry and I congratulate you for taking the most difficult step towards therapy. What brings you here today? Having trouble with handling life stressors? Having difficulty with handling your emotions if it anxiety, depression, anger, etc.? I help all kinds of people who are suffering from mood disorders, anxiety disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, people with addictions as well as the LGBTQIA+ community and health professionals. We can work together to accomplish the goals of situations you would like to change. I will help to give you the tools to guide you to having a more fulfilling life. If you are feeling like everything is out of your control, I am here to help. You will be entering a safe space that is nonjudgmental and validating. You may have many questions still and I can answer them to make you feel more comfortable.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
You will be walking into a safe space where you will not be judged for what you feel is wrong. We will go over any situations that are causing you distress and handle them in that session. Near the end of each session, we will go over a technique to help with getting you closer to your goals and speaking about its efficacy at the beginning of the next session.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have been working with both mental health and people with addiction for the past eight years. I worked in different types of environments before including a residential facility, outpatient hospital setting, and private practice. I conducted a program specifically for health professionals including nurses and doctors with both addiction and mental health. I have worked with the LGBTQIA+ community to handle specific situations that affect them uniquely.
