Scott Clark
Hi! My name is Scott Clark and I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University at Montgomery and have been practicing for 8 years. I help teenagers and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and other issues take back their lives by encouraging and guiding them to being their true, authentic selves.
First session
In our first session together, we'll start with building rapport and trust so that you to feel comfortable sharing the challenges you're facing with me. We'll then start to create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions
Strengths
I've been through a good deal of adverisity in my life. So, I know what it's like for life to feel overwhelming. I want to use that experieince as well as the education I've recieved both in school and specialized training to help you find a way out that leaves you feeling more like yourself than you ever have.
Ideal clients
I love working with teenagers and adults who are eager to face and overcome the issues they're facing but don't yet have the tools needed to make it happen. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious
Treatment methods
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
I have used REBT to help people challenge the thoughts they have that are contributing to their anxiety, frustration, and other uncomfortable emotions. This type of therapy can help you to have more reasonable expectations so that you can stop being your worst enemy and start having some compassion for yourself.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I have used Exposure Response Prevention to help people overcome all types of anxiety and self-limiting beliefs. I'll use ERP to gradually expose to things that may be challenging but not overwhelming. This type of therapy has been shown to be extremely effective.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I'll use mindfulness to help retrain your brain to feel anxiety and discomfort so that it gradually decreases and so you don't feel stuck in anxious thinking patterns.
