New to Grow
I’m Jeanne Kimble, a licensed psychotherapist helping adults do the deep work to more efficiently treat and transform their struggles with anxiety, depression, trauma and complex trauma. My clients have typically experienced adverse events, emotional abuse or neglect in childhood. I work holistically, taking a comprehensive approach that considers multiple aspects of a client's life and situation. I aim to target the work that matters with the goal of helping clients make meaningful change in less time. My work is informed by completed trainings in psychodynamic therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, ACT, third-wave CBT and EMDR. My areas of interest include attachment theory and human psycho-social development, trauma-informed care, performance enhancement and current cognitive neuroscience, including predictive processing. I bring a pragmatic and interactive approach to the work I do and take great joy in watching people transform long‑standing pain and obstacles into greater strength, presence and a truer experience of freedom.
Our first session is about getting to know you -- first, through an inquiry about your current health, lifestyle, and behaviors, then through a brief narration of your experiences from childhood to the present.
I specialize in helping adults identify and transform the limiting patterns of thought and behavior that are holding them back. These patterns have often been forged by unhealthy family dynamics, non-nurturing or highly stressful environments, as well as verbal abuse or emotional neglect in childhood. My greatest strength comes from a rich and seasoned perspective, informed by the experience of providing social work and counseling services to children, adults and seniors, from a multiplicity of cultures and backgrounds, for 30+ years.
I work with adults who are ready to do the deep work of a therapy that enables them to drop the baggage from a difficult childhood and live a better life. My clients are often high functioning externally but long-suffering internally with confidence and relational problems, symptoms of anxiety, depression or trauma, frequent fight, flight, freeze or fawn responses, mood swings, OCD, ADHD, perfectionist tendencies and other bad habits.
EMDR
I use an attachment-focused EMDR framework to help clients identify and resolve stuck beliefs, memories and relational trauma from childhood. My EMDR work often uses somatic, experiential, parts work and exposure therapy techniques as well.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use a a third-wave or Mindfulness-Based CBT to help clients learn an effective approach to tame problematic thought patterns like rumination, overthinking and unwanted intrusive thought.
Psychodynamic
I use a foundation of neuro-informed psychodynamic therapy that explores the impact of certain past experiences on unconscious thoughts and current behavior.
