Hello! My name is Kathleen McCoy, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Work. I earned my degree from Case Western Reserve University and have been practicing for 10 years. My areas of specialization include adults navigating mental health challenges, trauma, grief, and addiction, integrating CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, ACT, IFS-informed, somatic-informed approaches, & EMDR.

First session

Your first session is a space to share your story and talk about your goals. We move at your pace. By the end of your first session, you will have a clear idea of how we can work together and the next steps for your healing journey.

Strengths

Throughout my career, I have intentionally learned and integrated a variety of therapeutic approaches so that I can meet you where you are and tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals, and experiences. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and my goal is to create a collaborative, supportive space where we can find an approach that feels right for you.

Ideal clients

I work with adults navigating trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, therapy can help you move from surviving to thriving. I also offer ongoing support for those looking to maintain and strengthen their overall wellness. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized, meeting you where you are on your healing journey.

Treatment methods

Integrative

Integrative therapy brings together different approaches to create a personalized experience based on your needs, goals, and experiences. Depending on what feels most helpful, we may draw from CBT to explore thoughts and behaviors, DBT to build skills for managing emotions and relationships, Motivational Interviewing to support change at your own pace, and mindfulness to help you stay grounded and present. We may also use ACT to focus on your values and what matters most to you, somatic approaches to build awareness of how experiences show up in your body, IFS to better understand different parts of yourself, and EMDR to help process difficult or distressing experiences. Together, we’ll find the approaches that fit you best, with the goal of helping you better understand yourself, work through challenges, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change.
