Karen Wells
Finding the right therapist is an important step, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgemental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. As a LCSW with more than 20 years of experience, I have had the privilege of helping adults navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. I am trained in CBT, DBT, and ACT and I integrate these evidence-based approaches to help client develop practical coping skills manage difficult emotions, improve relationships and move toward the life they want to live. Whether your struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, live transitions, grief, or feeling stuck, I believe therapy should be a place where you feel supported while also being challenged to grow. Together, we'll identify your strengths, explore obstacles, and work toward goals that are meaningful to you. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
First session
Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, and what you hope to accomplish. I'll also ask questions about your personal history, relationships, health and any previous counseling experiences to better understand the whole picture. This is a collaborative and judgement-free space where you can share at your own pace. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard and supported from the very beginning. Together, we'll identify your strengths, discuss your goals, and begin developing a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the therapy process so you what to expect moving forward.
