(she/her)
Hello, my Friend! I would like to share a little bit about myself. The person: I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned my Master's in Social Work at University of Pittsburgh. I have been employed in several positions such as Therapeutic Support Staff, Behavioral Specialist Consultant, Caseworker, Outpatient Therapist, and as a supervisor of service coordination over the last 20 years. I am a mom of two children and one of 5 keepers of the zoo we call home. Dogs, guinea pigs, and reptiles oh my! The Therapist: I use several therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am available daily: Sunday 10am-8pm Monday 1 pm - 5pm Tuesday 10am-7pm Wednesday 10am-7pm Thursday 10- 7pm Friday 10am-5pm My open schedule allows for the first appointment and for my last appointment to end at the ending time. If you are in need of a certain appointment, please let me know. I'm very flexible with my schedule so therefore you do not find a time that's right for you due to a dance recital or going out with friends from out of town just let me know and we'll change that one appointment to another time that is better for you. Please understand that if you must reschedule you must do it as soon as you know the change is needed.
Our first session we will complete your Intake Assessment. In doing so we will verify your demographic information and learn some background information including your concerns. This really does provide an awesome way to start the important conversations.
I have developed a strong set of values as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, especially in therapeutic role. I am a Good listener. I make observations that are not apparent. I prefer a straight forward conversation. I encourage the use of critical thinking and coping skills for success. I am awesome therapeutic metaphors. All things in session remain in session and session is neutral.
I have had experience with many different groups and individuals: Families, divorce, co-parenting, self- injury, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality, and others. I have completed 20 years addressing Mental Health and Behavioral Treatment needs, giving me much experience to the mapply what I was taught. Just know when there is a question, and I do not have an answer. I will work very hard to obtain an answer to your inquiry! Thank you for taking a peek! I hope to hear from you soon.
