New to Grow
Welcome! I'm Shawntelle Fisher, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to helping individuals, children, adolescents, and families navigate life's challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can heal, grow, and build the skills needed to thrive. Whether you're facing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, I'm committed to helping you move forward with confidence and hope.
Your first session is all about getting to know you. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, and the goals you'd like to achieve, while also exploring your strengths and the support systems already in your life. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, and together we'll develop a personalized plan that reflects your needs, priorities, and pace. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
I bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that balances empathy with practical, evidence-based strategies. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful change. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Family Systems Therapy (FST), I tailor each session to your unique needs, helping you build resilience, strengthen relationships, and develop the tools to thrive long after therapy ends.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are ready to take meaningful steps toward healing and personal growth. Many of my clients are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, family or relationship challenges, grief, foster care or adoption experiences, or major life transitions. Whether you're seeking support during a difficult season or looking to build healthier patterns for the future, I'm committed to helping you develop the confidence, resilience, and skills needed to reach your goals.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier ways of coping, and practice practical strategies that can be applied in everyday life. CBT is a collaborative, goal-oriented approach that helps clients build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and create lasting, positive change.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help children, adolescents, and adults process the effects of traumatic experiences in a safe, supportive environment. Together, we'll build healthy coping skills, manage difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful thoughts related to trauma, and gradually work through painful experiences at a pace that feels comfortable. My goal is to help clients reduce the impact of trauma, strengthen resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and hope.
Christian Counseling
For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian counseling into therapy by incorporating biblical principles, faith, and prayer alongside evidence-based clinical approaches. I respect each client's beliefs and only include spiritual interventions when they align with the client's preferences and treatment goals. My approach is to support emotional healing, personal growth, and spiritual well-being while providing compassionate, ethical, and clinically sound care.
Family Therapy
I use Family Systems Therapy to help families improve communication, strengthen relationships, and work through challenges together. Rather than focusing on one individual, we explore how family dynamics influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while identifying healthy patterns that support lasting change. My goal is to help family members better understand one another, resolve conflict, and build stronger, more connected relationships.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths, build on what's already working, and create practical solutions to their current challenges. Rather than focusing only on problems, we work together to set achievable goals and develop small, meaningful steps toward positive change. This approach empowers clients to recognize their resilience, build confidence, and make progress in a relatively short period of time.
