Accepting new clients! Depression, anger, anxiety, and just trying to figure out how to make it in the world today can be difficult to do alone. My passion is to guide people through this journey to help them find peace in an otherwise chaotic world. If you are ready for change and want to talk to someone that can help you feel grounded and ready to face the world, please reach out to me. I offer counseling utilizing CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) principles to produce either positive changes to behavior or peaceful acceptance of things that one cannot change. For clinically less intense, but still troubling problems, I utilize personal coaching techniques and Motivational Interviewing Techniques. If you are dealing with depression, anger, or anxiety and want this type of change in your life then I am here to help. I know that you are probably tired of the struggles that have held you down in the past. It can be exhausting to try and do it alone. I hope that your desire to see something different in your life encourages to take the next step. I am available to talk if you are ready to begin this journey.
In our first session together, we will go over what you need to know to be successful in therapy. We will also cover the basics, like how to contact me and important topics like confidentiality. We will spend most of the session getting to know you and what you are hoping to work on. I'll ask some questions to help get an understanding of the problems you face and what you're already doing to address. Finally, we'll end the session by scheduling future appointments.
I have a particular strength in working with anger, depression, and anxiety. I have helped many individuals overcome these challenges in the past. I also have a particular niche working with men on these issues and helping them work through them.
I serve a wide range of individuals, but have a particular knack for helping teen and adult men overcome our unique problems we face. That said, I work with many women as well as I have been told that I offer perspective they've needed.
For years, I've used CBT to help individuals recognize distorted or unhelpful thoughts. Together we learn to challenge and reframe these thoughts into more realistic, balanced perspectives. This helps my clients to lead a more full and rich life.
Sometimes negative thoughts and feelings are hard to change. Sometimes life is hard. ACT helps us to change our relationship with these thoughts, feelings, and circumstances. I have used this approach much of my career. It is an inspirational way to live your life.
