New to Grow
I'm an older therapist with a lot of life experience including my own personal growth and healing. I value being of service to others, which led me to being trained as a clinical social worker offering therapy for adults. I did my undergraduate and graduate field placements in a community mental health agency, and continue to work in a non-profit community mental health setting in addition to my private practice.
In our first session, I will introduce myself, my background, and what you can expect in going forward in therapy sessions with me, so you have some basic information and for you to ask questions of me. The rest of the session is for me to get to know you that includes what you hope to get out of therapy. This meet and greet is done through a conversation, and we will continue and deepen that conversation in future sessions. Your stated needs and self determination will be my priority, where I encourage you to share what is helpful and not helpful in our sessions together.
My greatest strength is my dedication to you in furthering your progress on your journey. I don't take my role lightly in developing a trusting and working relationship with you to reach your goals for therapy. I bring patience, curiosity, empathy, and compassion to assist and enhance those deeper conversations for awareness, growth, and healing.
I best serve adults that are seeking support with life challenges, life transitions, needing increased mental and emotional health, unresolved past trauma, navigating relationships, seeking a deeper connection with themselves and others, intimacy issues, and seeking purpose and spiritual connection in their lives. Ideally, I work best with client's seeking to deepen their self awareness, so that they can make better choices with this awareness to create their best life.
