About me

I work with adolescents, young adults, and middle-aged adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce-related issues, family dynamics, relationship issues, grief, identity, spiritual formation, healing from childhood wounds, and mental illnesses. I view clients through a holistic lens, including mind, body, soul, and spirit, because they are closely tied together. I have traveled all over the world as a missionary, and I loved the life experience I gained and the cultures I experienced. My experience as a teacher and missionary has made me a better therapist and a more open and understanding person as a whole.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session with me, I will ask more questions and may even talk more. I want to gain context and understand the client and how I can help them. It is a time to get to know each other. I welcome questions from clients as well because I know I am a stranger, and I want to make clients feel comfortable from the beginning. In the first session, we will also discuss goals for therapy, and I will use that information to create a treatment plan, which is my roadmap and helps me know where to guide you and where you want to go in therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a keen ability to establish rapport and build trust with clients, creating a safe and supportive environment for them to explore their thoughts and feelings. I can connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and I respect their individuality and uniqueness. My non-judgmental and compassionate approach allows clients to feel heard and understood, and I am skilled at helping them gain insight and develop coping strategies.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a treatment method I use for immediate relief from distress, and it is used to help clients regulate so that we can go deeper into the root of the issue.

Somatic

Somatic Therapy is used to help clients reconnect their mind ot their body so that they can be more aware of how they show up in the world and recognize triggers around them. I use deep breathing, guided meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation in sessions to help clients regulate in real time.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy is used to understand how individuals show up in any relationship, whether romantic, friendship, or familial. I use attachment-based therapy to help clients to recognize unhealthy patterns of behavior in relationships so that they can create healthier patterns that give relationships more depth and authenticity.

Faith based therapy

Faith-based therapy is used on a client-by-client basis, and it can help clients to feel more anchored or connected to a higher power.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use a person-centered approach to therapy, and I function as a guide because I want my clients to learn coping skills and be able to help themselves. The person-centered approach helps instill confidence in the client that they are capable of being in charge of their own growth and healing.
