Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I believe a listening ear and a non-judgmental approach goes a long way in helping individuals find their way back to their best selves. I work with older teens, young adults, couples and individuals who are facing life transitions and relationship conflict to move through their current stress into more helpful functioning. I have experience working with those who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral issues. Working from a humanistic perspective I strive to provide a safe and inclusive space for exploring any difficulties you may be facing within yourself or your relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we'll explore some personal history and current struggles that bring you into to see me. I'll invite you to discuss your ideal experience of therapy which will help me better formulate a treatment plan and have an idea of the focus of follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With a heartfelt belief that every human is worthy and valuable I really strive to find ways to help clients recognize this in themselves. Methods of reframing, building awareness and skill implementation all aid in moving individuals into an improved view of themselves and their capabilities.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with individuals who are finding themselves facing transitions, big life changes or questions. Whether it be relationship, school or work focused my clients often desire to understand themselves and their place in the world better. Together we work towards implementing helpful coping skills and healthy thinking patterns.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

By focusing on an individual's potential for growth and self discovery I encourage clients to explore their desired outcome from therapy and collaboratively work towards implementing needed awareness and change to bring desires to reality.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Leaning heavily on psychoeducation and helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, actions and feelings we work towards implementing practical ways to bring about positive change in functioning.

Couples Counseling

Borrowing from Gottman and Esther Perel I explore ways couples can improve communication, connection and conflict resolution. Leaning into helping partners become more able to share their vulnerable selves supports the relationship by validating each party and meeting connectivity needs.

Positive Psychology

I am a strong believer in the value of humans and the innate worth we all carry. I believe that working from a perspective of capability and well-intentioned desire allows us to uncover areas needing additional support and perspective to bring about healthier functioning.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have worked with individuals with complex trauma and have been formally trained in the steps of TF-CBT. Supporting individuals to better understand the impact of trauma on thought processes and actions can alleviate trauma symptoms and support more emotion regulation.
