(she/her)
Currently, I am only providing individual therapy. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California, I extend a warm welcome to you. By contemplating therapy, you've already taken the first step toward personal growth and transformation. Over my years of practice, I've had the privilege of working with individuals spanning a wide range of ethnicities, backgrounds, and ages – from 4 years old to over 90 – addressing a multitude of concerns.
During our initial session, we'll begin by exploring the therapy process together, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. We'll then delve into the unique challenges you're encountering, allowing us to craft a personalized plan tailored to your needs and goals. Think of it as creating a bespoke recipe for your journey towards healing and growth – one that reflects your individuality and preferences, guiding us towards meaningful progress in our follow-up sessions.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, attuned, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely understood and emotionally supported. I work from a trauma-informed and attachment-focused perspective, helping clients explore not only what they are experiencing now, but why these patterns developed and how to gently change them. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression using Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR). This approach allows us to process distressing memories while also strengthening internal resources, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety. I carefully pace trauma work, prioritizing stabilization and consent, so clients feel empowered rather than overwhelmed during the healing process. Another key strength of my work is supporting clients in integrating cognitive insight with emotional and body-based awareness. This mind–body integration helps strengthen nervous system regulation, increase emotional tolerance, and reduce automatic stress responses. By developing greater awareness of internal sensations and emotional cues, clients can respond more intentionally rather than reactively. My approach is collaborative, structured, and deeply respectful of each client’s pace, culture, and lived experience.
I am best positioned to work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and the lasting effects of trauma. Many of my clients feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in negative thought patterns, or disconnected from their sense of self despite appearing high-functioning on the outside. They may experience chronic worry, mood swings, low self-worth, or emotional reactivity in relationships. My ideal clients are individuals who want to understand the root of their emotional pain, not just manage symptoms. They are open to developing greater emotional regulation, self-compassion, and resilience, and are interested in healing past experiences that continue to impact their present life. Together, we work toward improved mood stability, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of internal safety and self-trust.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I am a CBT-certified therapist and I have been helping my client to rebuild their pre-existing cognition of seeing themselves and seeing others through identifying their core beliefs and reframing them.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Based on my extensive training regarding cultural competency and my self-exploration as an immigrant, woman, and minority in society, I have been considering the best way to respect my clients' backgrounds and appreciate our differences. This consideration has helped me to deeply link with my clients and maintain a safe and healthy therapeutic environment.
EMDR
I have specialized training and clinical experience in Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR), an integrative, trauma-informed approach that combines standard EMDR protocols with attachment theory, resource development, and nervous-system regulation. In my work, AF-EMDR is used to address both single-incident and complex or developmental trauma, particularly when early relational experiences continue to impact emotional regulation, self-worth, and relationships. My approach emphasizes preparation, stabilization, and internal resourcing before trauma processing begins. I carefully assess each client’s readiness and tailor the pace of treatment to support safety, choice, and collaboration. During processing, bilateral stimulation is used not only to reduce distress related to past memories but also to strengthen adaptive beliefs, emotional regulation, and a felt sense of internal support. AF-EMDR allows trauma work to proceed in a way that is contained, respectful, and aligned with the client’s capacity.
Strength-Based
I believe every human being is unique, each with their strengths. My work experiences have guided me to assist my clients in identifying and enhancing their strengths that may not have been recognized or discovered yet.
