Are you overwhelmed with your emotions and wanting help to understand what you're feeling? Hi! I'm Shane, a Licensed Professional Counselor and I am here to support you! Human beings have amazing stories to tell about their lives. However, there are times when life presents us with a plot twist and we're unable to work through it on our own. Talking with a counselor like myself can help bring the clarity you need to take that next best step for you. I've been in this field for over 4 years and have worked with many clients. Helping them rewrite their stories in a way that allows them to become the healthiest versions of themselves.
The first session is an intake session. This is where you will share some of your story to help me understand what motivated you to come to counseling. During our first session, I will explore what you are you hoping to change about your life by working with a counselor. This session is to help me understand who you are, help you to know what to expect in working with me as a counselor, and set expectations for sessions moving forward.
In therapy, I take a non-judgmental approach to help clients feel comfortable in sessions. I will be direct and hold you accountable, while empathizing with your current situation and helping you to focus on a plan to make future progress. Therapy with me will help you find clarity. Lastly, language matters when working with clients, I strive to make sure we are speaking the same language. Research shows communication and rapport are powerful tools in therapy, so I make sure my clients feel heard and cared for when working with me.

Understand that change is an end and a beginning, and I desire to support you at the intersection of growth and healing. Clients who thrive the most when working with me and experience the greatest life changes are those who are dealing with anxiety day to day, those who feel engulfed in grief and those who are weighted down by depression. We can work together to develop a treatment plan that helps you heal and move forward.
We talk to ourselves the most. CBT will provide an opportunity for us to examine the inner monologue we have with our thoughts and learn new ways to think about our situations. CBT is an evidence-based practice that has been utilized to treat depression, anxiety, and other stressors that people have.
The narrative-focused approach, because this is your story, and I desire to know how you want the story of your life to continue. Narrative Therapy provides the opportunity for clients to look at their past, identify recurring themes, and write their future story how they want it to be.
Human beings are complex, and one therapy modality may not meet their needs. Utilizing an eclectic method allows me to integrate various approaches to target your specific concerns, based on where you are and where you want to be.
