New to Grow
I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been so for over 30 years. For the last 20 years I have been working for a provider of Hospice services, dealing with patients and families as they face the challenges associated with a chronically ill family member, navigating the complex world of healthcare needs, anticipatory grief and caregiver role strain. Other areas of focus include relationships, communication, work/life balance, anxiety, self-esteem and the challenges that we face at various stages of adulthood.
At your first session you can expect a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate place to share what brought you into therapy and what you hope to get out of therapy. I will give you an opportunity to share some of your history so that we can collaborate on what your goals are and what seems to be getting in the way of better choices that will lead to a more fulfilling life. I invite you to explore your level of comfort so that together we can determine if this is a good fit for your current situation.
I have worked in Community mental health, substance abuse and hospice care. Through these experiences, I have worked with a wide variety of people in widely different stages of life and various lifestyles. I am a very open, compassionate caring person. I encourage people to identify their strengths and the focus on the many things they have accomplished to get themselves where they are and together to identify what is holding them back from reaching their goals. Success in life is measured in many different ways, and it's important for individuals to find out what is really important to them in order to make the choices necessary to achieve those goals.
I work predominantly with adults facing issues of transitions in their lives including questioning what is important to them, relationship issues, work/life balance, how anxiety and depression can block the best path to a more fulfilling life. I have a great deal of experience with geriatric issues, caregiver role strain and am well versed in healthcare issues and resources and tips for navigating these challenges.

I identify as
Strength-Based
Beginning where a patient is and focusing on the things in their strengths is an excellent way to start with a foundation of what's working in one's life to allow the patient to safely identify the obstacles to moving forward more effectively.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Understanding one's past, both genetically and environmentally, can provide very important information about the current choices and patterns in one's life. This gives us an opportunity to identify what is and is not working and make better choices with a clear understanding of the origins and patterns that created the situation.
