Hi! I am a fun loving, people person which is how I found being a therapist a good fit as I love to help people navigating issues and troubles in their life. I really enjoy helping people find a better understanding of themselves and building on strengths to enhance their life and their relationships. I have always said therapy is place for strong people to work on themselves and unlock what is within their controls to feel empowered in their life, whatever the situation.
In your first session with me I really like to spend time getting to know you and why you choose to start your therapeutic journey. I work to try to establish trust and understanding through active listening and work to make sure we are a good therapeutic fit for your wants and needs.
I really like my therapeutic approach to be more involved. I have always told my clients that you won't have to worry at all about what I am thinking as I do give feedback so it is a working relationship and I enjoy active listening to help create a deeper understanding in your life and about yourself.
I do really like to work with clients who have relationship issues of all kind including breakups or issues in divorce. I will work with you to make some therapeutic goals as you are most likely seeking out therapy because you are ready for some changes and just need help executing these in your life. Most therapy goals I work around involve better self awareness and understanding, better communication, understanding boundaries, and working through attachments around past relationships.
I love using CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts shape themselves and their health and at times we have to challenge thoughts and behaviors to help develop better skills for a healthier life.
I love helping clients work on their communication and strengthen their bonds as a couple. Couples really need to work on issues together and understand how each of their past influences their partnership and how that impacts their day to day.
All my methods involve the strengths of the client and how important it is to know our strengths and build on those for a strong function and mental health.
