My name is Kristi Moriarity. I have been a nurse practitioner for over 12 years. I also have a background in neurology. I am married and have two step-daughters and two children adopted through the foster care system. As a working wife/mother, I know how hard it can be to schedule appointments.

I am married and have two step-daughters and two children adopted through the foster care system.

I will be available some evenings and on weekends.

First session

During the first appointment, I believe it is very important for me to listen to you. I want to hear your story and how your illness affects your day to day life, so that we can work together to bring a better quality to your life. I will guide you through an in-depth initial assessment that is holistic. By the end, we will come up with a medication treatment plan together.

Strengths

My approach is very person-centered. I see us as partners in your care — you’re the expert on your own life, and I bring my medical and mental health background to support you. Together, we’ll figure out what helps you feel and function better. I really believe you know yourself best. My role isn’t to tell you what to do, but to explore options with you — whether that’s medication, therapy, or lifestyle supports — so you can make informed decisions that fit your values and goals. Medication can sometimes be part of the picture, but it’s never the whole story. I like to look at the biological, psychological, and social pieces together so we can support you as a whole person.

Ideal clients

I have vast experience treating mild to severe mental illness. I am comfortable treating all mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorders. I also treat schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, trauma related disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and ADHD.

Treatment methods

Compassion-Focused

I am genuine and have empathy for all people. I am accepting of patients without judgment. I believe people have an inherent drive to grow, heal, and reach their potential. I will listen deeply, empower autonomy, and will incorporate your strengths and goals into the plan of care. I believe in shared decision making.

Kristi makes me feel comfortable enough to advocate for what I want out of my treatment. She asked the right questions that brought me out from my usual inability to speak up for myself and listened when I explained why I think I have struggled to receive proper treatment in the past. She allowed me to participate in my treatment in a way I have never been invited to do.

Selected this provider based on patient reviews. I felt immediately at ease when my session started despite my anxiety about it. She was a great listener and I felt she was truly invested in helping me. She asked for my input which I appreciated and we came up with a plan together.
