Paola Fagnani
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring years of experience working within the complex systems that shape individuals, couples, and families. My approach is grounded in a systemic understanding of relationships, viewing presenting challenges—such as family conflict, and communication breakdowns—not in isolation, but as expressions of broader relational patterns. I pay particular attention to intergenerational dynamics and developmental stages. Fluent in Italian and Spanish, I strive to create a culturally responsive space .
First session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. I will invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what challenges you're facing, and what goals you may have. We'll explore your current situation, relationships, and any relevant background at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and respected.
Strengths
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in a systemic understanding of each client’s unique context. I draw from evidence-based models such as Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), while also integrating principles from Narrative Therapy, Postmodern Psychotherapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). This integrative framework supports a holistic and culturally responsive process, allowing us to explore relational patterns, emotional experiences, and internal dynamics in depth. Together, we work to uncover meaning, shift unhelpful cycles, and build practical tools that support sustainable, long-term change.
