8 years of experience
My professional experiences have been with children, teens, adults, couples, and families seeking to overcome trauma, attachment disruptions, relational dissatisfaction, and other mental health concerns impacting their functioning. I have worked for various non-profits and community agencies relating to the foster care system and adoption. I am consistently honored by the privilege to witness vulnerability in the lives of my clients as they pursue healing and wholeness. I am a firm believer that healing happens in relationships, and that wholeness is the best way to embrace life!
I take a client-centered approach to all my work and believe in holistic healing, integrating mind and body in order to achieve greater wellness. The majority of my experience has been with trauma and coping with the secondary effects of depression, anxiety, and relational difficulties. I see therapy as collabortive work between the client and therapist, and as the therapist it is my job to help you find the answers, conclusions, and healing you are looking for. No matter what the concern, I use compassion and openness as I journey with my clients to uncover a better quality of life, big or small!
Just as no two people are exactly alike, I believe therapy should be tailored to the individual person. I enjoy utilizing insight oriented approaches to help uncover more deeply rooted issues of identity and self-worth as they affect our relationships and life functioning. I am certified in EMDR and have extensive training in complex trauma, parenting, and attachment based issues.
As a therapist my greatest strength is joining with my clients in whatever they are experiencing. It is important to know that you are not alone and are heard and understood. By utilizing empathy and compassion, I create a non-judgmental space that makes it safe to be vulnerable and open.
