Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply tired of carrying everything on your own. You may know something needs to change, even if you’re not quite sure what that change looks like yet. I work with adults and older adults navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, identity, substance use, grief, and the challenges that can come with health and life changes. I’m a licensed independent social worker with an MSW and DSW, and my background includes behavioral health and integrated care. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I look at the whole person, including your relationships, culture, health, community, and the environments that shape your life.
In our first session, we’ll focus on what’s weighing on you most, what you’ve already tried, and what feeling better might actually look like in your day-to-day life. You’ll have space to think out loud, ask questions, and move at your own pace. We’ll also begin looking at the experiences and patterns that may be contributing to what you’re facing. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, with a clearer understanding of what brought you to therapy and an initial sense of where we can begin.
I bring warmth, curiosity, and directness to sessions. I listen closely and make room for you to think out loud, while also helping you notice patterns, question what may no longer be serving you, and identify concrete next steps. I tend to look at the whole picture rather than treating symptoms in isolation. My goal is for therapy to feel collaborative, practical, and grounded in your actual life, with enough support to feel understood and enough challenge to help you move forward.
I work best with people who want to be active in therapy and are curious about themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped them. You do not have to come in knowing exactly what is wrong or what needs to change. We can figure that out together. I do not see myself as the expert on your life. You are. My role is to walk alongside you, help you make sense of what you are experiencing, notice patterns that may be hard to see on your own, and explore what you want to do differently. I’m a good fit for people who want support, but who are also open to being challenged, trying new things, and doing some of the work between sessions.
I use CBT to help you become curious about the connections between your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and actions. Together, we’ll notice patterns that may be contributing to what you’re going through and explore different ways of responding. I won’t tell you what you should think or how you should live. You know your life better than I do. My role is to ask questions, offer another perspective, challenge you when it may be helpful, and work alongside you as you decide what changes make sense for your life.
I use motivational interviewing to help you explore what matters to you, where you may feel stuck, and what changes you are actually ready to make. Rather than telling you what you should do, I’ll ask questions, listen closely, and help you work through mixed feelings or uncertainty. Together, we can identify your own reasons for change and figure out steps that feel realistic and meaningful for your life.
I use solution-focused therapy to help you identify what is already working, what you want to be different, and what small steps might move you in that direction. We may look at times when the problem feels less intense, strengths you have already used, and practical changes you can try between sessions. The goal is not to ignore what has been difficult, but to make sure therapy also helps you see possibilities and build momentum.
I take a strengths-based approach by paying attention not only to what is difficult, but also to the skills, relationships, experiences, and qualities that have helped you get this far. Even when you feel stuck, there are often strengths you are already using that can become part of how you move forward. We’ll build on those rather than treating therapy as if everything about you needs to be fixed.
