First session
You can expect to be heard, respected and understood. in this first session we will work on establishing a safe, trusting connection while gathering background information. We will review policies like confidentiality, and conducting an intake to understand your current challenges, symptoms and life history. We will discuss things you hope to achieve through therapy and what a successful outcome looks like to you. This session will give you the opportunity to evaluate whether you feel comfortable and if my style is a good fit for you.
Strengths
I feel as if I bring an interpersonal approach and clinical strength to sessions to include active listening, unwavering empathy and a non-judgmental stance to be able to offer a safe space.
Ideal clients
My dream client is someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and lean into the therapeutic process. They recognize that therapy is a collaborative partnership and values taking active responsibility in their own health and growth. My ideal client is eager to put in the effort required to make meaningful changes, they recognize that they hold the key to their own progress, while I am here to guide and support them.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've been using CBT in my practice for the past several years. It's helped dozens of clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We'll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We'll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a more relaxed and less stressful life. CBT helps you by teaching you to identify, challenge and replace negative thought pattens that create unnecessary stress or distress. Instead of focusing on your past, it provides you with practical day-to-day tools to manage your present reality.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I've been using solution focused brief therapy interventions to help individuals looking to focus on solutions rather than problems. This helps individuals make positive life changes both rapidly and effectively. Using solution focused brief therapy interventions you can work on achieving your goals and improving your well being.
