New to Grow
Hello, I’m Dr. Victoria Mahboub, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, integrating psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and holistic, evidence-based care. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel understood, gain deeper insight into themselves, and develop practical tools for lasting emotional growth and healing.
In our first session, you can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental conversation focused on getting to know you, your concerns, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We will explore your current challenges, important life experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is to help you feel safe, understood, and collaborative in the process while beginning to identify meaningful goals and a treatment approach that fits your individual needs.
What stands out about my approach is the balance between depth, insight, and practical change. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with cognitive behavioral techniques and a holistic, evidence-based perspective, helping clients not only manage symptoms but also understand the underlying emotional patterns, relationships, and experiences shaping their lives. Clients often describe therapy with me as warm, insightful, and collaborative, where they feel genuinely understood while also gaining concrete tools for healthier coping, stronger relationships, and lasting emotional growth.
I work best with teens, young adults, and adults who are feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in painful relationship patterns, struggling with anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, or difficulties with self-worth. Many of my clients are insightful and high-functioning on the outside but internally carry stress, emotional pain, or unresolved experiences that affect their relationships and daily lives. I provide a warm, collaborative space that combines psychodynamic insight, cognitive behavioral strategies, and a holistic, evidence-based approach to help clients better understand themselves, build healthier patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic theory and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), combining insight-oriented exploration with practical tools for change. By understanding how past experiences, attachment patterns, and unconscious dynamics shape present struggles, clients can develop greater self-awareness while also learning effective strategies to improve daily functioning, emotional regulation, and relationships. This integrated approach allows treatment to be both deeply reflective and goal-oriented.
