New to Grow
Hi! I am Brittany (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have experience working with all ages, from age 5 and up. I have a strong passion for supporting and guiding my clients in their mental health journey. I graduated with my bachelors degree in social work from UNC Greensboro in 2014 and with a Masters degree in social work from UNC Charlotte in 2020.
You already made it to the first step, you are seeking guidance for your mental health journey! It takes a lot of strength and courage to do the first step and you made it. The first session consists of a clinical evaluation, which gives me the opportunity to gather background information about you and your goals.
I am a very easy going person, and very easy to talk with. I want my clients to feel safe and comfortable when they are with me. I am great with listening and will cater to your unique problems. Everyone has different experiences and respond to things differently and that is okay!
I am a strong believer in a client-centered approach. You are the expert and know yourself the best. Everyone goes through challenges throughout life and that is okay! Whether you are going through life changes, dealing with anxiety, or just need some extra support with coping strategies, I am here to help in any way I can. In therapy, I am a strong believer in collaboration, respect, and support. I want to walk with you through this journey we call life. When working together I will listen, provide support and guidance all the way through. When we are together it is your safe space to be feel seen, empowered, and heard.
A CBT approach may be used to help the client identify how their emotions and thoughts may contribute to their actions in situations. Being able to identify these three things can help improve thinking patterns
A DBT approach may be used to help the clients identify and mange intense emotions and help improve their ways of coping with different stressors and relationships.
Motivational interviewing is a great form of a therapy approach that is client focused.
A strength based approach focuses more on the clients strengths and how they can utilize those strengths more in their personal life and problem solve.
A supportive therapy approach may be used as well. This approach provides emotional support for the client and also helping reduce stress and increase and improve coping strategies.
