Cristian Rivera
Welcome to the practice. My journey in mental health care began from the ground up—starting as a psychiatric technician, advancing to a mental health nurse and charge nurse, and ultimately becoming a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of shaping the next generation of caregivers by teaching mental health nursing clinicals for UCF, Seminole State College, and South College, and I currently hold hospital privileges at AdventHealth. At my core, I am deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health struggles. Nothing brings me greater joy than partnering with my patients, watching them get better, and helping them reach their personal goals. I look forward to welcoming you to the practice and supporting you every step of the way.
First session
In our first session, we will focus entirely on your mental health journey. We will review your medical and psychiatric history, including any previous providers you’ve seen or medications you have tried. If this is your very first time seeing a mental health professional, I am truly honored to walk alongside you. Together, we will discuss what brings you in and collaborate on a treatment plan to help you reach your goals. I know that meeting with a medical professional can sometimes feel intimidating, and it is completely normal to forget your questions in the moment. My ultimate goal is for you to feel comfortable and genuinely heard. To help with this, I highly encourage you to write down any questions you have before our appointment so we can address all of your concerns together.
Strengths
What sets my approach apart is my deep commitment to ensuring every single patient feels truly heard during our appointments. Mental health care is a journey, and I want you to feel that your provider is walking right beside you every step of the way. My ultimate goal is not just symptom relief, but helping you achieve a more fulfilling, vibrant life. When you leave our sessions, I want you to walk out the door feeling validated, supported, and confident in the plan we’ve built together.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve individuals who are ready to take an active role in their mental health journey. My ideal clients are those who recognize they need support and are open to receiving guidance. Whether you are feeling stuck or facing specific challenges, you are someone who is motivated to set meaningful goals and ready to do the collaborative work it takes to achieve them
