New to Grow
My name is Jessica, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I help adults experiencing anxiety, challenges in their relationships, navigating life transitions, and the impact of trauma and loss. I use evidence-based approaches to support my clients in building insight, developing practical tools, and responding to challenges with more flexibility. I’m especially mindful of how culture, family, and intergenerational experiences shape how we see ourselves and relate to others.
Our first session is a chance for us to start to get to know each other and talk through what’s bringing you in. We’ll begin exploring what’s been going on, identify what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and discuss what support might feel most helpful moving forward. Starting therapy can feel a little unfamiliar or intimidating at first, but you can expect us to move at your pace and you don’t need to have everything figured out before showing up.
One of my greatest strengths is creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and able to be themselves openly and without judgment. I’m warm and supportive, while also thoughtful and direct. I will challenge you when it helps support your growth. I balance insight building with practical tools, which means that I help clients process their experiences but also learn clear strategies to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and navigate their relationships more effectively.
I enjoy working with people who are motivated to better understand themselves and work towards change. Many of my clients might be struggling with emotional overwhelm, navigating burnout/stress, perfectionism, or feel like they’re holding everything together on the outside while quietly struggling internally. I also support clients navigating loss and transition that occur with family changes, health conditions, and shifting roles or identities.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and notice patterns that may be keeping them stuck. CBT is a collaborative and supportive approach that builds awareness so you can develop more helpful and flexible ways of responding to challenges.
Psychodynamic
I believe our early relationships and past experiences shape the ways we cope, relate to others, and move through the world today. In therapy, we’ll explore recurring emotional and relational patterns, including attachment dynamics and patterns that may no longer be serving you. This approach helps you work through past issues, develop effective coping tools, and ultimately leads to healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to others.
