I work with individuals, couples, and families to help gain insight into what is happening in order to move forward and achieve a more fulfilling and productive life. My goal is to help you understand yourself more and assist you with living a more free and conscious life. I use attachment theory to assist people in understanding how their past impacts their present. I specialize in treating addiction, trauma, codependency, relationship issues, and axis II disorders using a holistic trauma informed approach and dialectical behavioral techniques. My approach blends years of experience, education, and professional training with insight, mindfulness, and compassion. I have received ongoing specialized training in Post Induction Therapy to treat developmental trauma and childhood abuse and neglect. I provide a safe space where we can work together to move forward. I do focused work with teenagers around substance abuse, eating disorders, emotion regulation issues, and other axis II traits. I also specialize in treating adults suffering from effects of developmental trauma including codependency, addiction, and co-addicted relational patterns.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session I like to gather a detailed history to see how I can be most helpful. Together we will come up with goals and a treatment plan so we both understand what we are working toward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Although being a highly sensitive person has at times been a struggle, I find it allows me to be more attuned to clients and provides me with a large capacity to sit in any situation with compassion and curiosity.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have spent most of my career working with survivors of trauma. Sometimes this is acute single event trauma and sometimes this is working through trauma from decades ago or trauma that lasted decades. I also have spent extensive time working with those struggling with addiction, co-occuring disorders, and axis II disorders.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

As a trauma therapist, I provide care through a trauma informed lens. I have worked extensively with sexual assault, interpersonal violence, and childhood sexual abuse and am currently a SART advocate who responds to hospitals to support survivors after an assault.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilized CBT to assist client in restructuring negative core beliefs and finding more fulfillment in life. Often our early childhood experiences shape our current reality but because our brains are constantly forming new pathways, we can actually change the way we view the world.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have received extensive training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to assist client with calming nervous system activation, increasing safety in their mind and body, and creating a more mindful space where we can live. We live in a very activated world which often leads to unconscious anxiety so being able to have skills to increase our consciousness can make us feel more present and peaceful in our lives.
