New to Grow
I provide a trauma informed practice using cognitive behavioral therapy. I am excellent at building on my patient's strengths. I am non-judgmental and I have a strong belief that everyone has worth. My job is to help you grow at your own pace. I have worked with a wide variety of people and have enjoyed learning from my patients. I am optimistic about your ability to grow.
Our first session will be getting to know each other, finding out what issues you would like to work on and what current stressors you have going on in your life. I also like to know what kind of goals you have and what is holding you back.
I bring a natural warmth and I have been told by patients that I am nonjudgmental. I also use humor in a gentle way.
I work well with trauma survivors both recent and childhood trauma. I help patients process their feelings, identify their strengths and recognize how the trauma has impacted their life. I work with patients identifying distress and help identify coping mechanisms. I provide a compassionate presence and bear witness to their trauma in a respectful manner. I discuss survival skills and identifying people who can put them at risk.
