New to Grow
Hi, I’m K’Nya! As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I am passionate about couple’s therapy and couples struggling in the area of communication and emotional intimacy. I have received extensive training working with high conflict couples and I also work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and life transition dilemmas! I am of Christian-faith and have no problem with incorporating faith into our sessions (for those that identify as Christian).
You can expect to leave aware of your contributions to the dilemma at hand and equipped with tools on how to reach your goals. Understanding and insight are two things I aim to gather from clients through their first few sessions. Throughout our time together, there will be process questions and in-between session directives given.
I am big on rapport building and facilitating a space of transparency and warmth. The space co-created with clients is a no-judgement zone, it is a space of empowerment and equipping. My approach is a blend of a few different evidence-based practices that I tailor-make to the client(s) sitting before me.

For clients that are of the Christian faith, biblical tools can be included into the work that we do with one another.
A client's awareness of self is paramount to the therapeutic process. Once one is aware of how this affects that, they are in position to make a decision about change. I use in-between session assignments to instill this process outside of in-session techniques.
My niche clients are couples navigating conflict and emotional intimacy issues. I am trained in the PET-C method which is a mix of Gottman and neuroscience, relationship research and attachment. I have fused this approach with my own which is a mix of the approaches within the treatment methods. (Couples are only seen via Cash Pay on this platform.)
