Tywanna Albro
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults. I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported, and I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients can openly discuss their concerns and work toward meaningful change. My approach focuses on collaboration and individualized treatment. I take the time to understand each patient's unique experiences, symptoms, strengths, and goals before developing a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs. I specialize in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing support for a wide range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, panic disorder, mood disorders, and behavioral challenges.
I combine medication management with supportive therapy and evidence-based techniques like CBT, always tailoring care to each individual’s needs and comfort level.
First session
Welcome! I understand that starting psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to make your first appointment as comfortable and supportive as possible. During our initial visit, we will spend time getting to know you and discussing the concerns that brought you to treatment. I will ask about your current symptoms, medical history, mental health history, medications, family history, lifestyle, and any previous treatments or therapy experiences. This comprehensive evaluation helps me gain a clear understanding of your unique needs and develop the most appropriate treatment plan. You will have the opportunity to share your experiences, ask questions, and discuss your goals for treatment in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. I believe in working collaboratively with my patients and value open communication throughout the process. If medication is recommended, we will review the potential benefits, risks, possible side effects, and alternative options so you can make an informed decision about your care. Depending on your individual situation, recommendations may also include psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, coping strategies, or referrals to additional resources. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and personalized. I recognize that every person’s journey is different, and I tailor treatment plans to fit your specific circumstances and goals. My priority is to help you feel heard, respected, and empowered while supporting your mental health and overall well-being. By the end of the appointment, you can expect to have a better understanding of your symptoms, an initial treatment plan, and clear next steps for follow-up care. Together, we will work toward improving your emotional wellness and helping you achieve a healthier, more balanced life.
