Hi there! My name is Jackie and I have experience working as a therapist with people from a variety of backgrounds. As a first generation African American woman, I understand the value of having a space where you can be your authentic self. My approach integrates culturally sensitive, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed care. I believe in celebrating resilience while gently exploring pain points—and yes, we’ll even laugh in session when it helps the healing.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
I am trained in CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. I use an eclectic approach in my work with clients. I would describe my style as compassionate, warm, direct, and collaborative. I sometimes assign homework based on the discussions we have in sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My biggest strength is my ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds. My favorite part about being a therapist is meeting people from all walks of life and learning from one another through this process.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You might be feeling like you're carrying the weight of the world, but no one truly sees it. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or like you’re constantly navigating unspoken expectations—you’re not alone. Whether you're constantly trying to figure out how you fit in, navigating generational or cultural expectations, or simply trying to breathe, I see you. I specialize in supporting BIPOC and first-gen adults who are ready to unpack, rebuild, and thrive while making a life that is meaningful to them.

This was my first therapy session on my own and I don't think it could have gone any better. Jackie's follow up questions helped me verbalize how I felt and my emotions surrounding situations. She was very warm and easy to talk to and you can tell she's listening which is very comforting.
