Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

First sessions with me usually include me explaining the important document and ensuring the client doesn't have any questions regarding the intake process. I also explain this is my chance to get to know them and what they are seeking in therapy more detail. What are their expectations of me as their therapist? This first session if for me to gain clarity of how I can best serve my client by understanding what brought them to me.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have been told by previous clients that I create a very inviting and safe space for them to share things about themselves that they never thought they would share. I have a way of ensuring naturally that my clients are comfortable and I have a very collaborative approach to my sessions. I take great pride on my ability to allow my clients to feel heard and feel honored with them for being vulnerable with me.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Clients that are open and receptive to exploring what they feel works best for their life and in reaching their desired goals. Clients who are unbiased as it relates to receiving therapy are also ideal. Clients seeking to gain clarity or explore a deeper understanding of their behaviors and life patterns. Clients that allow them selves to be emersed in the experience of growing in a positive manner.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I focus on the following key aspects: Assess clients' thoughts and beliefs to identify cognitive distortions. Teach clients to challenge and reframe negative thought patterns. Implement behavioral activation to encourage engagement in positive activities. Use exposure techniques to help clients confront fears gradually. Monitor progress through regular feedback and adjustments to the treatment plan. Incorporate mindfulness strategies to enhance emotional regulation.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I focus on the following key aspects: Utilize mindfulness techniques to help clients become aware of their thoughts and feelings. Encourage acceptance of difficult emotions rather than avoidance. Guide clients in identifying their core values to enhance motivation. Facilitate committed action towards goals aligned with those values. Use experiential exercises to promote psychological flexibility. Regularly assess progress and adjust strategies as needed for individual needs.
