His clinical approach emphasizes individualized treatment, respect, accountability, and hope. First session
However, if you are preparing for your first therapy session, getting to know each other involves discussing the concerns that brought you in, your background, and what you hope to achieve.
Strengths
I am nonjudgmental and empathetic, with many years of experience in mental health.
Ideal clients
Clients who are currently experiencing challenging issues that require life or lifestyle changes. I have worked successfully with many people with these adjustment disorders. Typical examples would be adjusting to the loss of work, loss of a spouse, or the need to develop a new profession—a major change in the living environment, such as a soldier returning home from military service.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is an effective way of revealing and challenging dysfunctional thinking concerning a perceived threat or a challenging life circumstance.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)
Human beings can replay events over and over in their thinking, thereby creating or exacerbating their challenges. CBT is a very effective method of changing a person's perceptions to a more balanced frame of reference.
