My strength is my warmth and quickness in building a trusting where my clients feel truly cared for. I am creative with collaborating on solutions, creative in the interventions I choose. I am thoughtful in making meaningful connections within the material processed. I am a well-rounded therapist with both practical CBT skills and a training in family systems theory background. I have 3 years of experience working under an associate license within welfare services as a therapist for children, parents, and within the foster care system, with experience navigating difficult circumstances. Within this community I have been selected as a therapist experienced in trauma work to be specifically recommended to clients with sexual trauma. My practicum experience is as a school counselor where I worked with children with trauma and struggling with self-harm and ideation.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session we are looking at a causal session of getting to know one another. I can answer any questions you might have about the process whether you are new or experienced with receiving therapy services. I will be looking at collaboratively building a treatment plan tailored to suit your individualized goals and exploring how to best serve you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My clients would describe me as both professional and warm, with a balance of both respecting of boundaries, empowering clients, and showing up for them with genuinely care and interest for understanding their experiences and problems through a lens of empathy and solution-oriented work. My experience is wide range; I have provided services with children as young as 4 and adult clients as old as 70. I am compassionate and see the best in people, I am able to bring out strengths and help clients see their potential through my positive approach and hopeful mindset.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Individuals who are in need of relief from mental health symptoms, whether it be depression, anxiety, a mix of everything or a disorder. Someone who is wanting to place trust in developing a trusting and supportive relationship where they feel heard, and feel comfortable opening up, and confident in their own abilities to create positive change in their lives. I am also looking to serve clients with trauma, as I am trained and experienced working in the field of social welfare. It would be an honor to serve a client that is seeking therapy as they are choosing the path of self-improvement.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been practicing CBT with clients for the past 3 years, and it has helped many, being effective in empowering and creating long-lasting change for clients.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate mindfulness-based therapy providing emotional regulation skills, visualization, meditation and other guided sensory and mind's eye-based experiences for relieving symptoms and improving overall mental wellness.

Structural Family Therapy

I integrate family systems theory training into my work, and have completed structured family therapy sessions with families, as well as using the knowledge of recognizing generalization patterns to create emphasis on areas of needed change. I have seen that clients enjoy being able to understand where they came from, and that only by understanding the systems they grew up within, can they begin to work to make a conscious change.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have experience with TF-CBT, a trauma focused modality for children that also incorporates the psychoeducation within CBT skills in a child friendly way and includes sharing psychoeducational parenting components with parents on the best methods for helping their children to regulate. I have found the creation of the trauma narrative to be a powerful way to have clients explore their identity and life story.

Psychoeducation

I believe that it is essential to pass down skills to clients so that they might make use of what they have learned for years to come. I also believe that learning is a big component to healing and that developing competency not only strengthens confidence and believe in personal change, but that it puts control back into the hands of clients.
