I am deeply passionate about nursing and enjoys providing holistic care to the patients she serves. I offer medication management and psychotherapy. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and ADHD.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, multiple screenings to ensure accurate diagnosis, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been incredibly rewarding. CBT is a versatile and evidence-based approach that I've found to be effective in helping clients overcome a wide range of mental health challenges. In my practice, I've used CBT to help clients recognize and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to their distress. This often involves identifying cognitive distortions, such as black-and-white thinking, catastrophizing, or personalization, and working together to reframe these thoughts in a more balanced and realistic way. One aspect of CBT that I particularly appreciate is its emphasis on collaboration and active participation. I work closely with my clients to set specific, achievable goals for therapy, and we regularly monitor progress together. This collaborative approach empowers clients to take an active role in their own healing process, which can be incredibly empowering. CBT is also highly practical, with a focus on teaching clients concrete skills and strategies to manage their symptoms. Whether it's learning relaxation techniques to cope with anxiety, practicing assertiveness skills to improve communication, or gradually confronting feared situations through exposure therapy, CBT equips clients with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges more effectively. Another strength of CBT is its flexibility. While the core principles of CBT remain consistent, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client. Whether someone prefers a more structured approach with homework assignments and worksheets, or a more conversational style of therapy, I adapt my techniques to best suit their individual style and preferences. Overall, my experience with CBT has been overwhelmingly positive. It's a dynamic and effective approach that empowers clients to take control of their mental health and build a brighter future for themselves.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has been an integral part of my therapeutic practice, particularly when working with clients who struggle with emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and interpersonal difficulties. My experience with DBT has been incredibly fulfilling. DBT offers a comprehensive framework that combines both acceptance-based strategies and behavioral techniques to help clients build a life worth living. One of the core components of DBT is teaching mindfulness skills, which I've found to be immensely beneficial for helping clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations in the present moment. This cultivates a sense of groundedness and helps clients respond to life's challenges with more clarity and intentionality. Another key aspect of DBT is its focus on emotion regulation. Many of my clients come to therapy struggling with intense and overwhelming emotions, and DBT provides practical tools and strategies to help them manage these emotions more effectively. Whether it's learning to identify and label emotions, practicing distress tolerance skills to cope with crisis situations, or implementing emotion regulation techniques such as opposite action, clients develop a toolkit to navigate their emotional experiences with greater ease. Interpersonal effectiveness is another cornerstone of DBT, and I've seen profound transformations in my clients' relationships as a result of learning these skills. DBT teaches clients how to assert their needs, set boundaries, and navigate conflict in a way that fosters connection and mutual respect. By learning effective communication strategies and practicing validation techniques, clients are better equipped to build and maintain healthy, fulfilling relationships. In my practice, I integrate DBT techniques into individual therapy sessions, as well as offering skills training groups for clients who would benefit from additional support and practice. I also emphasize the importance of generalizing skills outside of the therapy room, encouraging clients to apply what they've learned in their day-to-day lives and providing ongoing support and guidance as they navigate challenges and setbacks. Overall, my experience with DBT has been incredibly rewarding. It's a comprehensive and compassionate approach that empowers clients to cultivate a life of balance, resilience, and meaning.
