Brittni Dash

LCSW-C (she/her)20 years of experience

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, so I strive to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported from the very beginning. With over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, I understand that no two healing journeys are the same. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, grief and loss, relationship concerns, divorce recovery, women’s identity, life transitions, trauma bonds and narcissistic relationship abuse. I am also EMDR Certified and incorporate trauma-informed approaches to help clients process difficult experiences and move forward with greater confidence. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and direct. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe enough to be honest while also feeling challenged to grow. Whether you’re navigating a difficult season or working toward long-term healing, I am committed to helping you build the tools, insight, and resilience needed to create lasting change.

First session

Beginning therapy can bring up a mix of emotions, and that’s completely normal. During our first session, my goal is to get to know you, not just the challenges you’re facing, but who you are as a person. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your personal history, your strengths, and what you hope to accomplish. This is also your opportunity to ask questions and determine whether I feel like the right fit for you. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of successful therapy. By the end of our first session, we’ll begin identifying your goals and discuss a plan that fits your unique needs. There is no pressure to share everything all at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable while still helping you make meaningful progress.

Strengths

I believe meaningful change happens through honesty, trust, and a willingness to look at situations from different perspectives. Clients often describe me as down to earth, relatable, and easy to connect with. I bring my authentic self into the therapy room, creating a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. While I am compassionate and supportive, l am also transparent and straightforward. Therapy isn't about telling you only what you want to hear, it's about helping you discover what you need to hear in order to grow. Some conversations may be challenging, but you won't face them alone. We'll work through them together with curiosity, compassion, and a shared commitment to your goals. Rather than simply validating every thought or feeling, I help clients examine the patterns, beliefs, and perspectives that may be keeping them stuck. Together, we'll challenge unhelpful thinking, explore different ways of viewing situations, and develop practical strategies that lead to lasting change. My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling not only heard, but empowered with new insight, greater self awareness, and the confidence to navigate life's challenges.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is ready to invest in themselves and is open to growth, even when the process feels uncomfortable. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly where to start you simply need to be willing to show up with honesty and a desire to create meaningful change. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, personality disorders, grief, divorce, women’s issues, LGBTQ, and major life transitions. Many of my clients feel stuck in unhealthy patterns, overwhelmed by life, or unsure of how to move forward. If you’re looking for a therapist who will simply agree with everything you say or just to vent to, we may not be the best fit. However, if you’re looking for someone who will support you, challenge you with compassion, and help you see yourself and your circumstances from new perspectives, we’ll likely work well together. My goal is to help you develop the insight, confidence, and tools needed to create lasting change not just temporary relief.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and develop healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges. My goal isn’t to tell you what to think it’s to help you build the skills to think differently so you can feel and function better in your everyday life.

Couples Counseling

I help couples improve communication, rebuild trust, and better understand one another’s needs. Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you disconnected and work together to create healthier ways of communicating, resolving conflict, and strengthening your relationship. My role is to create a balanced space where both partners feel heard while also being challenged to grow.

Gender-affirming therapy

I provide a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space for individuals exploring or navigating their gender identity. Whether you’re questioning your identity, coming out, transitioning, or simply looking for support, therapy is centered around your unique experiences and goals. Together, we’ll address challenges such as identity exploration, relationships, family dynamics, self acceptance, and overall emotional well being while honoring your authentic self throughout the process.

EMDR

As an EMDR Certified therapist, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process distressing memories and experiences that continue to affect their daily lives. EMDR can reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences, helping you feel less overwhelmed and more in control. We’ll work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable while helping your brain process experiences so they no longer have the same emotional hold on you.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy helps us understand how past experiences, relationships, and life events may be influencing your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By increasing self awareness, we can uncover patterns that may no longer serve you and gain insight into why they continue to show up. Understanding these connections allows us to make intentional changes that support healthier relationships, emotional well being, and long term personal growth.
