New to Grow
Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor from Virginia. I went to James Madison University for undergrad and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology for grad school. I specialize in trauma recovery, anxiety, and personal growth for teenagers and adults. I offer a therapeutic experience that balances deep, empathetic insight with structured, practical tools. Because every individual's story is different, I draw from a versatile toolkit of specialized modalities.
Our first session is all about building a comfortable, safe connection and establishing a foundation for your healing. We will take things entirely at your pace. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, look at the challenges or symptoms you're currently facing, and talk about your personal goals for our work together. You'll also have plenty of space to ask me any questions about my background or clinical approach. By the end of our time, we’ll co-create a collaborative roadmap so you know exactly what to expect moving forward in our future sessions.
The greatest strength I bring to our sessions is a balance of deep, compassionate space-holding and active, structured guidance. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I excel at sitting quietly, holding safe space, and helping you extend curiosity to the parts of yourself that are hurting or protective. At the same time, I am not a passive observer.
I work best with teenagers (ages 13–17) and adults who are navigating the complex aftermath of trauma, chronic anxiety, life transitions, or deep-seated identity questions. My ideal clients are often individuals who feel 'stuck' in old, repetitive cycles or find themselves held back by a harsh inner critic, yet they possess a readiness and curiosity to look beneath the surface to break those patterns. In our sessions, we will focus on emotional regulation, nervous system grounding, and uncovering the different protective 'parts' of who you are using Internal Family Systems (IFS). We will work closely together to safely process impactful memories or PTSD symptoms through evidence-based frameworks like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma-Focused CBT. Your goals in therapy might include reclaiming your personal agency, shifting unhelpful or 'stuck' beliefs that stemmed from past trauma, and learning how to navigate painful emotions without getting overwhelmed by them. By utilizing Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), my ultimate aim is to help you separate your core identity from the challenges you face, untangle unhelpful thought patterns, and co-create an empowering new story. Together, we will build the psychological flexibility and practical coping skills needed to move toward a deeply meaningful, calm, and values-driven life.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you stop fighting against your difficult thoughts and emotions so you can focus on what truly matters to you. Together, we will work on developing psychological flexibility and mindfulness skills, allowing you to accept your inner experiences while actively taking steps toward a rich, meaningful, and values-driven life.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I utilize Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients navigate and heal from trauma. Through this collaborative, focused method, we look at the 'stuck points' in your thinking that keep you tied to the past. By re-evaluating these thought patterns, you can develop a healthier, more balanced perspective and find relief from the ongoing symptoms of trauma.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I incorporate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help clients step-by-step through the process of trauma recovery. This evidence-based approach combines concrete emotional regulation skills with cognitive processing, allowing you to safely confront painful memories and shift unhelpful beliefs that stem from past trauma
Narrative
I utilize Narrative Therapy to help you view your life stories from a fresh perspective. Together, we will look at the challenges you face as separate from who you are as a person, allowing you to externalize problems rather than internalizing them. My goal is to help you uncover your hidden strengths, reclaim your personal narrative, and rewrite your story in a way that aligns with your true values and hopes for the future
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you explore and understand the different 'parts' of who you are—such as the parts that feel anxious, protective, or self-critical. By approaching these inner dynamics with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment, we can work to heal past wounds, reduce internal conflict, and help you connect with your core Self for calmer, more confident decision-making
