Are you struggling in your relationships? Are you looking for a better way to express yourself to others? Do you want to better understand your emotions and how to respond to them? Whether you're struggling with relational issues, depression, anxiety, or anger management, I am here to walk with you on the next part of your journey. Adapting to life's changes can feel overwhelming when we are unsure of what lies on the path and my role is to help you navigate the road ahead and to help form a safe place to process the changes that await you there. During our time together, I promise to meet you with empathy and understanding so that you can feel empowered to incorporate the emotional management tools necessary to conquer whatever lies ahead. Everyone deserves to feel safe and heard. During our sessions, I can help you to explore family of origin patterns, current relational patterns, and your emotional management style in order to better understand you and to help you better understand yourself. Working from a client-centered approach means that I will use your expertise to guide our work and progress forward with your goals in mind. So, let's get started!
After each session, I hope that you will feel as though a weight has been lifted. Our therapy space needs to consistently feel safe so that you can explore what's in that heavy bag you've been carrying and allow me to help you unpack it. As we progress, the goal is that you leave each session with a better understanding of your emotions and the experiences that help shape them.
As a clinician, I have worked in a variety of fields and my experiences in these areas have helped shape me into the collaborative therapist that I am. My extensive work in family violence (specifically with men and women who have been charged with assault/domestic violence) provides me with the knowledge and framework to better serve individuals who are trying to heal patterns of family violence and incorporate safety and respectful communication in their relationships. I have also worked extensively with adolescents in residential treatment programming and have training in couples workshops and working with extended families (co-parenting and family system therapy).
Family Violence ( I have worked with populations who have been arrested for family violence as well as survivors), Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, Family of Origin Trauma/PTSD, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Coming from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy lens, my priority is to help you visualize goals for yourself as well as your relationships/connection to others. We will also work towards identifying roadblocks and obstacles to growth in a way that supports and empowers you to make necessary changes to address patterns of behaviors that don't serve you!
