New to Grow
Hi! I'm a therapist dedicated to helping people navigate life's toughest transitions and recovery journeys. Over the last seven years, I've worked with everyone from middle schoolers and college students to adults in recovery, helping them move past the 'stuck' feeling that anxiety and life changes that occur. My goal is to help you uncover the strengths you already have so you can walk away with a practical "toolkit" for a more resilient, purpose-driven life. I'm here to listen, support, and help you find your own path forward.
Taking the first step into therapy is a big deal, and I want you to feel as comfortable as possible from the moment we start. Our first session is really about building a foundation of safety and understanding. We will discuss confidentiality. I want you to have total peace of mind knowing how your privacy is protected and what our professional boundaries look like. I'll share a bit more about my background and how I work, but mostly this time is for you. I want to hear your story-who you are outside of your challenges and what specifically brought you to therapy. We'll end our session by discussing your goals for treatment. Whether you're looking for relief from anxiety, support, or help navigating life transitions, we'll start identifying goals you would like to accomplish. My goal for the first session is that you feel heard, respected and with a clear sense of how we are going to tackle your challenges together.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to truly see the person behind the struggles. Growing up in an environment shaped by generational cycles and financial hardships, I watched my family and peers navigate lives that were often products of their surrounding. This gave me a deep non-judgmental empathy for those facing systemic hurdles and personal transitions. I know firsthand that transitioning out of difficult circumstances is a challenge that can feel lonely. Having navigated my own path to a Master's in Social Work through hard work and self-expression, I bring a 'lived' hope to every session. I learned that life got easier once I found the courage to open up and express myself. I use that lesson to help my clients find their own voices and break the silence that often keeps them stuck. Because I understand how much our environments shape us, I don't just look at symptoms. I look at the whole person. I help you identify the external pressures you're facing so we can build internal strategies to overcome them. I am skilled at guiding people through the exact moments of "life transitions" that I once navigated myself. I believe that your history doesn't have to be your future. Whether you are a person trying to be the first to change your family's trajectory and wanting to experience growth, I am here to help you turn your experiences into your greatest strengths.
Clients who have some level of motivation and wanting to learn about their thoughts, emotion and habits. Clients who are experiencing a transition period and deciding how to navigate through education, career, or work life balance. Clients who are experiencing challenges in their relationships with their friends and family. Clients who may be experiencing anxiety and irritability. Clients who may not feel heard from the family or friends and want to express themselves without judgement.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have seven year of experience applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) across diverse clinical environments (K-12 Education, Higher Education, Adult Population, Recovery and Substance Use). My practice integrates evidence-based techniques to help clients identify and restructure unhelpful thought patterns, fostering practical coping strategies for lasting change. I use a collaborative, goal-oriented approach and help clients focus on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that will allow individuals to develop skills to achieve their personal growth goals.
Motivational Interviewing
With five years of specialized training, I utilize Motivational Interviewing to help clients resolve ambivalence and ignite internal motivation for change. I view my clients as the experts on their own lives. By using reflective listening and strategic questioning, I help move you past the "stuck" feeling and find your own compelling reasons to pursue a healthier more fulfilling path.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have spent the last five years of refining Solution-Focused Brief Therapy working with youth. My practice emphasizes immediate, actionable strengths rather than dwelling on past problems. I treat therapy as a collaborative search for what is already working. By focusing on your existing resources and successes, we work together to construct practical solutions that move you forward quickly and effectively.
