New to Grow
As a former first responder and United States Army veteran, I have had the privilege of serving others in some of the most challenging environments. This journey has shaped my deep understanding of trauma, addiction, and personality disorders, and I’m eager to apply my experiences to help those who are navigating their own struggles. My time in the military and as a first responder has given me a unique perspective on the challenges people face when dealing with trauma. I have an eclectic approach that is centered in trauma-informed care, person-centered, with humor injected into my interactions with clients.
My clients can expect professionalism, warmth, and direct, clear communication in our initial interactions. During the course of the therapeutic growth, they can also expect being challenged, the chance to take on new, more healthy perspectives, and have a better idea of not only what they want for themselves, but also raise their standards.
My strengths are based in my ability to connect with all walks of life. I have had many lives and many masters; and I use this life experience as a way to connect with nearly everybody. There is no subject that is too off the wall, irreverent, or taboo. I provide a judgement-free zone where self-censorship is unnecessary.
My ideal clients are those who are willing to ask themselves the more beautiful question; in other words, those clients who are curious about themselves and how they relate to and interact with the world are going to get more answers, and I am here to help facilitate that process. My hope for my clients is that they are not just completing their goals, but also to experience a soul-shaping interaction with someone who is more than just a body behind a desk or face behind a screen.
I work with my clients to address cognitive distortions that may interfere with their ability to change their perspective, approach problems in more effective ways, and directly effect their self-image and worldview.
I use Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and my knowledge and skills as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) to help my clients address various types of trauma from across the lifespan. The sooner the better! You do not have to wait a minute longer than necessary to begin trauma interventions.
I provide psychoeducation on attachment theory to my clients struggling in current and past relationships to shine light on potential trauma or developmental-relationship issues that can also be addressed using trauma-informed care such as EMDR.
I use existential and philosophical approaches to help clients create meaning for themselves when life starts becoming mundane, or even pointless.
