Krystal Whipple, LCSW, I believe that therapy is a space created just for you—a place where you can feel truly heard, understood, and supported. As a therapist with both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, I am committed to helping adults navigate the complexities of life. My approach is client-centered, meaning each session is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and experiences. I specialize in working with adults who are dealing with a variety of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. Life can be overwhelming at times, but you don’t have to face these challenges alone. My role is to walk alongside you, providing support, insight, and tools to help you manage life’s difficulties and discover your own path to healing. In addition to my formal training in social work, I hold a grief certification from David Kessel, which has provided me with specialized skills to support individuals who are navigating loss. I understand how grief can touch every part of your life and how healing from it is a deeply personal process. My goal is to create a compassionate space where you can process your grief and begin to rebuild in your own time and way. Whether you're dealing with the everyday stresses of life or deeper emotional wounds, therapy can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and growth. I believe in empowering my clients to tap into their inner strengths and find healthier ways of coping and thriving. You deserve support, and together we can work toward greater emotional well-being and a more fulfilling life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I always start with an introductory session to establish a comfortable and secure environment sounds like a solid foundation for building trust with clients. By allowing them to share their story and collaboratively set goals, you're empowering them to take an active role in their own healing journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My deep compassion and non-judgmental approach really help create a safe space for clients. Being fully present and truly listening to their stories is a powerful way to make clients feel valued. These are some of my strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Incorporating CBT into your eclectic approach likely provides a structured framework for helping clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, especially in treating depression. Since you use TF-CBT for trauma, it seems like standard CBT could serve well for broader cognitive restructuring outside of trauma contexts.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) can be a great complement to both TF-CBT and a person-centered approach, as it focuses on enhancing intrinsic motivation and resolving ambivalence. It aligns well with creating a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Incorporating a person-centered approach alongside TF-CBT offers a nice balance, emphasizing empathy and the client's autonomy. It likely helps create a safe environment where clients feel empowered, especially when dealing with trauma.

Trauma-Focused CBT

TF-CBT is such a powerful tool in trauma work, especially with its focus on addressing both trauma and cognitive distortions.
