Krystal Whipple, LCSW I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard. Everyone's journey is different, which is why I take a client-centered approach, tailoring each session to your unique experiences, goals, and needs. My goal is to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you can explore life's challenges, gain insight, and build the skills needed to create meaningful change. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work, I work with adults facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by everyday stressors or working through deeper emotional pain, you don't have to navigate it alone. Together, we'll identify practical strategies and coping skills that support healing, resilience, and personal growth. I have also completed specialized grief training through David Kessler, equipping me with additional tools to help individuals process loss and navigate the complex emotions that accompany grief. I understand that grief looks different for everyone, and I strive to create a supportive space where you can honor your experiences, find hope, and heal at your own pace. I believe that lasting change comes from recognizing your strengths while developing new ways to overcome life's challenges. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, encouragement, and evidence-based interventions that empower you to move toward the life you want. Seeking support is a courageous first step, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone. I look forward to helping you build greater emotional well-being, strengthen your resilience, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I begin therapy with an introductory session designed to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where you can feel at ease. This first meeting gives us the opportunity to get to know one another, explore what has brought you to therapy, and discuss the challenges you're facing. Together, we'll identify your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and priorities. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and you are the expert on your own life. My role is to provide guidance, support, and evidence-based tools while empowering you to take an active role in your healing and personal growth. Building a strong therapeutic relationship founded on trust, respect, and open communication is essential, and I strive to create a space where you feel accepted, understood, and supported every step of the way.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to be themselves. I believe healing begins when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted without fear of criticism or shame. I strive to be fully present in each session, listening with empathy and curiosity as clients share their stories. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work, and I value creating a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My goal is to help each person feel empowered, supported, and confident as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Someone who is motivated, communicative, and receptive to growth. These qualities are ideal for making progress in therapy, as they allow for a collaborative and productive partnership between therapist and client. It’s great when a client is ready to work on their goals and is open to the insights and strategies that emerge during sessions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Incorporating CBT into your eclectic approach likely provides a structured framework for helping clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, especially in treating depression. Since you use TF-CBT for trauma, it seems like standard CBT could serve well for broader cognitive restructuring outside of trauma contexts.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) can be a great complement to both TF-CBT and a person-centered approach, as it focuses on enhancing intrinsic motivation and resolving ambivalence. It aligns well with creating a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Incorporating a person-centered approach alongside TF-CBT offers a nice balance, emphasizing empathy and the client's autonomy. It likely helps create a safe environment where clients feel empowered, especially when dealing with trauma.

Trauma-Focused CBT

TF-CBT is such a powerful tool in trauma work, especially with its focus on addressing both trauma and cognitive distortions.
