Hey there! Welcome, and congratulations on making your first step to taking back control of your life! You are so brave and courageous to be starting this path of exploring the benefits of therapy. The reality is, life is a journey, and we all need help sometimes. We can get stuck, become overwhelmed, or hopeless with everything that life throws at us. My name is Rochelle, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I am here to support you with the process of getting back on track. I truly believe that in order to experience the best life you can, you must care for all aspects of your health and wellness, which of course includes mental and emotional health. I have worked with a very diverse population including, youth, families, disabled, adults, terminally ill, and elderly. Common areas of focus have included anxiety, depression, stress management, and adjustment. I am huge on meeting you where you are and allowing your time, to be your time. At the end of the day, we are a TEAM! There is only one expert on your life, and that's YOU! I am just here as your teammate to help you navigate and explore the ins and outs of your journey by providing validation, alternative perspectives, and a safe non-judgmental space. **Please NOTE: I am not able to accept minors at this time.**
Each time we work together will be different. The first session will primarily be a time for us to get to know each other, explore current issues or concerns that you have, and talk about the logistics and policies of therapy. We will then identify what are the treatment goals- what are we working towards and how long are we going to be working together? Ideally, during the following appointments we will work towards the identified treatment plan goals. Ultimately, my hope is that you will come away from therapy with alternative perspectives, tools and resources that will equip you to feel a greater sense of control with your journey of life.
My treatment methods will be tailored to you and your needs, but I tend to use a Client-Centered approach, which allows you to direct your therapy. I use evidence-based interventions associated with CBT and DBT therapy models. I also use mindfulness, relaxation, and deep breathing techniques regularly.
I believe that the therapist and client relationship is essential to the therapeutic process, and one of my biggest strengths is establishing positive rapport with clients. Being empathic, and providing a judgement free space where you can feel heard! Identifying strengths, and assisting you with exploring self limiting beliefs, and cognitive distortions and addressing the root of these perspectives. Supporting the process of ongoing positive adjustment; whether that be to a new shift or transition in life, terminal illness, new lifestyle changes, or to those who are newly caring for an ill or impaired family member.
