Hello everyone! My name is Laijun. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Georgia. I am a counselor that provides treatment for teen girls and women dealing with life’s challenges. I understand the importance of a client being able to find a counselor that they can connect with in more ways than one. The reason why I got into counseling is because I realized that more people who looked like me needed to see us in these same spaces and recognize that mental health is something that we all deal with. I see women of all backgrounds no matter race, sexuality, faith or any other demographic as my practice is women centered. I specialize in seeing women who deal with women specific issues such as PCOS, Endo, and infertility issues.
First session
In the first session I will introduce myself and get to know you and what you are looking for in a provider. I will also talk with you about your reasons for seeking therapy.
Strengths
I feel like I am truly able to connect best with women. What I have noticed is that my ability to connect makes my clients feel seen. As a provider who deals with women specific issues as well my clients are able to recognize that I have a personal connection to the work I do.
Ideal clients
I love working with teen girls age 16-19. I also love working with women age 20+. My clients tend to deal with women specific issues but also with other life stressors. My clients often come in because they recognize that they need a change and to improve and I allow them the space to do so.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to challenge negative thoughts and beliefs that we as humans have. I also use it to challenge you to change your perspective and make it positive.
Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS)
I am trained in CAMS and have been for a few years. I will use this for clients who are unable to break the cycle of suicidality and only when a person is committed to using this technique because it requires dedication on the client to see progress.
Psychoeducation
I provide education to clients on diagnosis and information behind treatment.
