My name is Lyn Walker. I have been in the counseling profession for over 20 years. I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds. I prioritize building a strong and trusting bond with my clients, so they are comfortable with sharing their most intimate and sensitive life stories and experiences with me. In our sessions there is no TMI. I build a non-judgmental and safe space for my clients. I value assisting me clients in feeling better and obtaining the goals they set to accomplish.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, I will conduct an intake assessment to understand why you wish to talk about your present situation. I will listen to your concerns and your goals. I will not pry or probe you to share anything you are not willing to explore during this first session. I seek to make you comfortable and open with talking to me.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am very interested in my clients improving their moods or feelings. I am interested in motivating my clients and holding them accountable for in loving themselves as best as they can and giving themselves grace.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I value clients who want to feel better about their present situation and want to improve the quality of their lives.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person centered therapy creates an environment where the counselor focuses on building a strong and trusting rapport with clients. Clients will not feel they should be judged for what they bring into their sessions. The environment is safe to discuss the most personal and sensitive matters.

Christian Counseling

Christian Counseling is provided for those who want to explore their faith in relation to the stressors and uncomfortable thoughts and feelings that are not in alignment to their spiritual beliefs.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral allows the writer and client to identify and vocalize thoughts and feelings and their association to emotions and behaviors. Identifying the connections between thoughts and feelings helps the client understand the motives for the unwanted responses. The client and counselor can then explore ways to regulate or manage the behaviors after exploring the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
