Hi, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor serving clients in Missouri through telehealth. I work with individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life changes, and I’m especially committed to providing an affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients. My approach is direct, compassionate, and practical. I take time to understand what you’re going through, what matters to you, and what you want to change. Together, we’ll work on understanding patterns, building coping skills, and finding steps that fit your life. You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out.

First session

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what’s been difficult, and what you hope will change. I’ll ask questions about your background and the support you have, and you’ll have time to ask questions and see how you feel about working with me. You don’t need to prepare a speech or share your whole story at once. It’s okay to feel nervous, unsure, or emotional. I’ll explain how therapy works, including confidentiality and its limits, and we’ll move at a pace that feels manageable. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, with a clearer understanding of how we can work together and an initial plan for what to focus on next.

Strengths

I bring compassion, honesty, and a practical approach to my sessions. I’ll listen, but I’ll also ask questions, help you recognize patterns, and work with you on steps you can use outside of therapy. I’m direct without being judgmental, and I believe humor has a place alongside difficult conversations. I help people work through past trauma and understand how those experiences may still affect their relationships, emotions, and daily life. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable for you. You won’t be pressured to share everything at once. Together, we’ll work on coping with triggers, building a sense of safety, and having more choice in how you respond. My experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I adjust how we communicate and work together to fit your needs. I have a strong commitment to LGBTQ+ affirming care, and I welcome people from all backgrounds. You know your life better than anyone. I bring clinical knowledge, curiosity, and a willingness to work through things with you. You don’t have to impress me or have the right words. We’ll start with what’s happening and figure out where to go together.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who needs a place to feel heard and supported. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, painful experiences from your past, relationship concerns, or changes you didn’t expect. Maybe you’ve spent so much time caring for others that your own needs have been pushed aside, or you’re tired of trying to manage everything alone. I welcome individuals, couples, and families from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ clients and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I take time to understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, and adapt our work to your needs. You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong or have the right words to explain it. I will meet you where you are, at a pace that feels manageable. Whether you want to work through past hurt, strengthen relationships, understand yourself better, or make daily life feel less overwhelming, we’ll work together toward what matters to you for real change.

Treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I help you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them control your choices. I'll help you explore what matters to you and take practical steps toward those values, even when life feels uncomfortable or uncertain.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I listen without judgment, respect your choices, and work with you on goals that matter to you. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we begin.

Gender-affirming therapy

I provide a supportive space to explore gender, identity, relationships, and the experiences that come with being yourself. We can work through questions, discrimination, family acceptance, or transition-related concerns without assuming there is one right path for you.

Supportive

I help you build on your strengths, find ways to cope, and take manageable steps through difficult situations. You don’t have to face everything alone. We’ll explore how past experiences may affect your daily life and relationships while respecting your pace, choices, and sense of safety.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I help you explore how trauma has affected the way you see yourself, others, and the world. Together, we’ll work through beliefs that keep you feeling stuck, including guilt and self-blame, and develop more balanced ways of understanding what happened and what it means for your life now.
