LCSW, 10 years of experience
I am a bilingual LCSW with years of experience in the field. I have worked passionately with individuals, families, adults, and patients to learn positive ways and skills to cope with stressors in life. I provide evidence-based therapies to help clients cope with life transitions, trauma, grief, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, adjustment and relationship issues, cultural issues, etc. As an immigrant myself, I have worked in many multicultural environments, including healthcare settings and clinical settings. I put cultural competence and humility at the heart of my practice. I love mixing therapy and conversation to get to the root of your struggles
In our first session, you can expect a warm and collaborative space where we’ll focus on understanding your story, your goals for therapy, and what has been most challenging for you. I’ll ask questions to get a full picture of your experiences, but there’s no pressure to share everything at once, you set the pace. Together, we’ll identify what feels most important to start working on, and I’ll also share how I approach therapy so you know what to expect moving forward. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of direction and feel supported in taking the first step toward change.
I tailor my therapeutic approach based on each client. My treatment modality including DBT, CBT and psychodynamic and mindfulness practice.
As an Asian- American immigrant myself, I put cultural humility at heart in and out of clinical sessions. My specialties: Anxiety and Panic Disorders/Depression; relationship challenges; Trauma; PTSD, Self-esteem Issues; and coping with difficulties.
My ideal clients are Asian American individuals who value cultural sensitivity and want a therapist who truly understands their unique experiences. Many of my clients are navigating stress, anxiety, or relationship challenges while balancing cultural expectations, generational differences, and personal growth. They are often high-achieving, yet feel weighed down by perfectionism, self-doubt, or the pressure to succeed. My clients want a space where they don’t have to explain their background or feel misunderstood, where their stories are honored, and healing is approached with compassion, depth, and cultural awareness.
