Hello! My name is Diana Perez-Nunez, and I am a double board-certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC, FNP-C) licensed in Florida. I specialize in providing holistic, patient-centered psychiatric care that combines medication management with supportive psychotherapy and psychoeducation. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, bipolar disorder, mood dysregulation, sleep difficulties, and other common mental health concerns. I approach each patient as a whole person, focusing on symptoms and overall wellness rather than labels. I use evidence-based strategies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques to help patients build coping skills, improve focus, and develop practical tools to thrive in daily life. I also believe in treating ADHD and anxiety proactively, incorporating holistic strategies and, when appropriate, natural supplements to support mental well-being. At My Wellness Psychiatry (the name of my practice), I prioritize collaborative care. I encourage mutual decision-making so patients feel heard, empowered, and actively involved in their treatment plan. I also use tools like GeneSight® genetic testing to help personalize medication management based on each patient’s unique needs. Whether through telehealth or in-office appointments, my goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where patients can improve mood, relationships, focus, and overall quality of life. I am fluent in English and Spanish, and I welcome new and returning patients to My Wellness Psychiatry. I enjoy seeing patients achieve meaningful improvements and feel happier and more confident in their daily lives. Please know that I treat movements disorders caused by antipsychotic medications. I also am able to provide long acting injections (Vivitrol, Aristada, Abilify, Sublocade, Brixadi, etc.). I also comfortably treat patients who are utilizing Suboxone/Subutex.
Our First Session Before your first session, you will be sent intake paperwork, including questionnaires and screeners, which should be completed ahead of time. This allows us to gather key information so that our session can focus on understanding your concerns and creating a treatment plan tailored specifically for you. During the first visit, I review your intake information, discuss your symptoms and history, and provide education about potential diagnoses, treatment options, and resources to support your mental health journey. We collaborate on a plan that may include medication management, supportive psychotherapy, lifestyle strategies, and referrals if additional care is needed. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and actively involved in your care. I integrate aspects of psychotherapy into medication management sessions, using tools like CBT, DBT, and psychoeducation to help you build coping skills and achieve your wellness goals. Please note that I do not provide standalone psychotherapy; my focus is on holistic, patient-centered care alongside evidence-based medication management. To respect the time of all patients, missed or same-day cancelled appointments incur a fee ($175–$195 for new patients; $95–$115 for follow-ups). This policy ensures reserved time and resources are used effectively. I look forward to working with you to improve your mood, focus, sleep, and overall quality of life.
My Greatest Strengths I specialize in treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and bipolar disorder. I was privileged to train with both a psychiatrist and a psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in these areas, and I continuously pursue continuing medical education to stay up to date on the latest evidence-based treatments. Because I have my own office, I am able to offer long-acting injectable medications, providing patients with convenient and effective options when appropriate. I collaborate closely with your other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to care. When I encounter a condition or challenge I’m less familiar with, I make it a priority to educate myself so I can provide the best care possible. For patients whose needs are especially complex, I will refer to trusted, vetted specialists to ensure you receive the highest quality care. My goal is always to help patients feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
I am best positioned to serve adults between the ages of 18 and 65 who are seeking a holistic, evidence-based approach to mental health care. I also work with children and adolescents (ages 5–17) and seniors (65+) on a case-by-case basis. My ideal clients may be struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, bipolar disorder, mood dysregulation, sleep difficulties, or other mental health concerns. I accept patients with all diagnoses, though individuals with complex or severe conditions—such as psychotic or schizophrenic disorders—may need in-person care depending on the complexity of their case. My clients are motivated to actively participate in their care, are open to both medication management and supportive psychotherapy, and want practical strategies to improve coping skills, focus, and overall well-being. I take a collaborative, personalized approach to help clients integrate lifestyle, behavioral, and medical strategies to achieve lasting mental wellness.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice by using supportive psychotherapy and psychoeducation alongside medication management. I apply CBT-based strategies to help patients reframe unhelpful thought patterns, build coping skills, and better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while ensuring these tools complement their overall treatment plan.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing techniques within supportive psychotherapy to encourage collaboration, empathy, and empowerment. This helps my patients explore ambivalence, strengthen their motivation, and build confidence in making positive changes, all while supporting their individualized medication management plan.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my practice by teaching skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation. I use these tools within supportive psychotherapy to help patients manage intense emotions and build healthier coping strategies, while integrating them into their broader treatment plan alongside medication management.

I would say that I have never met a doctor who was so interested in helping me. She showed interest in understanding my problems and provided compassionate responses to my questions and concerns. I have worked with numerous psychiatrists in the past, and I have never felt compelled to write a review for any of them. However, when I left Doctor Diana's office, I found myself looking for a place to leave a review. That speaks volumes about the quality of care and attention she provides.

I was always hesitant about seeking treatment, but feel I can be open & honest with Diana, who works with you & tries to find what best suits your needs, even when circumstances are difficult to do so. (ie: reactions /side effects, problems with swallowing medications, etc.) We have been able to work through things & have discussions regarding course of action & alternatives, & you really feel you're in good hands, like you still have a say in the course of treatment. Very much appreciated.
