Hi! My name is Karolina and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Illinois. I received my Masters in Community Counseling Degree from Argosy University and have been in practice for the past 17 years. I have worked in diverse settings and with individuals of diverse backgrounds and across age groups. I help individuals struggling with life's challenges, mood disorders, struggles in interpersonal relationships and survivors of traumatic events.
In our first session, we will begin with introductions and the reasons for you seeking therapy at this time. I will assess your current and past concerns as they relate to you seeking treatment and we will begin creating a treatment plan that will serve as our map and guide for the course of your therapy.
I love being a therapist. In my experience and through a variety of settings in which I was privileged to work, I have developed the ability to utilize a variety of approaches and strategies to help you navigate through the challenges that bring you to therapy.
I will help you identify, evaluate and challenge the patterns of thinking and behaviors that are holding you in place. I will also help you to learn and utilize new skills that will allow you to move on, get out of feeling "stuck," and live your life again.
The Psychodynamic treatment method allows us to focus on what forces are responsible for the way you are feeling and, in turn, for your behaviors. It will help us enhance your self-awareness and understanding of how your past experiences might be affecting your current functioning.
