Does the thought of therapy feel boring and pointless to you? Need someone who can help explain what is going on in you brain, how it impacts you, and practical ways to help deal with your challenges (anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, conflict, anger, addiction, men's issues, etc)? My name is Taylor, and I offer Neuroscience Informed Therapy that helps you become the meaningful person you desire to be. I am an integrative therapist, and like to use therapies like ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which is the newer wave of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), to help you build a new relationship with your brain, nervous system, and internal world. I love working with adolescents, young adults/adults, and families. As a Christian and Clinical Therapist, I have a unique capacity to help people who come from a Christian background, as well as those that do not. Spirituality can be very beneficial in therapy, but not everyone wants it to be included. When we begin we can determine what's right for you in your journey. Let's meet up and see if we are a good fit for therapy! If we are, we will set up good goals, go after them, and when we reach those goals we will transition out of therapy. In general, people do not need therapy for their entire life. So let's figure out what we need to do to help you and go after it.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First session is your interview of my approach to therapy and our ability to connect. You deserve the help you are seeking. That may mean you seek someone else, but it should be someone you feel you can connect with, trust, and who wants to help you. I like to get to know people before problems. I want to know who you are, and then figure out your WHY? I ask a lot of questions, get your goals for our times together, and then give a diagnosis as well as a prognosis before we end the session. I use evidence based techniques mixed with neuroscience to help you.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

We have to start with a good relationship. If you and I cannot connect it will be hard to trust when comfort zones need to be pushed on. Certified Prepare/Enrich Marriage Facilitator. Certified Safe and Sound Facilitator (Think Nervous System Recalibration) Certified Brain Health Professional with the Amen Clinics. Depending on what your goals are, I will use ACT, CBT, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focus Brief Therapy, Existential Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Regulation Theory, Spiritual Transformation (biblical counseling), and more to help you become who you want to be. I want to learn how you learn, and give you books, movie, youtube, podcast, scientific journal articles, or handout resources that help you grow your way.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love being creative and finding ways to help you. I have a lot of experience working with guys and ADHD. The world is moving fast, we know so much more about the brain now and how to help some of the challenges that can impact it. It's awesome, for example, to show people a brain scan of ADHD and take away the stigma from that mental health condition. We have great tools between our ears, but they are horrible masters. I used to work in the IT world and love to incorporate new tech when possible. Which is why I also work with the Amen Clinics to help people who are really struggling get a brain scan to show them what is going on in their brain.
