I have been loving practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the last 8 years. In my online practice, I work with teenagers and adults. I enjoy supporting people through life's transitions, whether they are transitioning into adulthood, parenthood, wanting to improve/deepen current relationships or pursue something new, moving past the end of a relationship, exploring identity, family changes or other significant life changes. I view these periods of transition as opportunities for growth, self-discovery, and learning to thrive as we step into a new chapter of our lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I start with an introductory session to learn about you, your history, what brought you to therapy, and what you would like to get out of therapy. Starting therapy can be a big step towards growth, healing, and empowerment and I'd love to hear your story and what brought you. I also provide a comfortable space for any questions you may have as you are ensuring this is the right fit for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

People tell me that I am easy to be open with and that they appreciate the non-judgmental space. I use a strengths based approach and believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to support you in making changes you want to make, exploring how your choices align with your priorities and values, and teaching tools as we identify areas where you want to learn new skills.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I'm happy to meet you wherever you are at. You may be ready for change and know ways you would like to grow and just wanting support along the way, you may be considering choices and wanting a safe place to explore decisions, or it may be that you are not even sure if counseling will be helpful but you are giving it a try. Any of those are great places to come to counseling from and I value meeting with someone who is skeptical but has the courage to try something new just as much as someone familiar with therapy and ready to learn new tools and make positive changes.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to explore thoughts patterns and teach tools to help you determine whether they are helpful or unhelpful. I have found that reframing our perspective and looking at difficult situations from a new angle can be a powerful way to promote growth and resilience moving forward.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate mindfulness based skills from DBT as they can be so helpful in managing difficult emotions and learning new tools rather than reacting to life's challenges out of old habits.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a great tool to help explore how our actions line up with our goals and values. Any time we find ourselves thinking "on one hand I want to make healthy changes but on the other hand its hard to follow through" it can be helpful to look more clearly at what we want to prioritize, if there are other priorities getting in our way we are overlooking, if we really want to make changes, and if so ways to deepen our motivation to do so.
