*****PLEASE NOTE***** When you make your appointment through Grow Therapy- You will receive a SUMMARY OF NEW PATIENT REQUIREMENTS from Psychiatric Health & Wellness- **Check your junk/spam folder. ALL forms must be submitted 24 hours prior to your appointment. Hello! I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. I have 20 years experience as an NP and over 39 years in health care. My expertise is in prescribing and medication management however, I also provide short-term psychotherapy. **Age group 7-45. **Appointment times are reserved on your behalf, please be respectful of time. We allow one full hour for a New Patient appointment and the 'no show/24 hour late cancel policy' will be enforced. I embrace and encourage a healthy lifestyle to empower you to overcome your struggles with anxiety, depression and/or ADD/ADHD. My unique approach in helping a patient is avoid 'symptom chasing and getting to the root of the problem,' which entails a very thorough initial assessment and evaluation. Together, we will implement an effective treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. My philosophy of practicing 'Holistic Psychiatry' is to embrace mind, body and spirit. And in doing so, my priority is to provide you a safe space to heal, compassion, understanding and kindness. You're not alone! Psychiatric Health & Wellness, LLC -www.jadamsandassociates.com

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Brief introduction, review and clarification of completed forms. Initiation of the psychiatric evaluation-gathering necessary information (reason for appt, discussion of symptoms, past/current medications, possible diagnostic tests required, treatment options). Depending on the complexity of the case, it is not uncommon for two separate appointments needed to complete a full evaluation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

The majority of my career has been in Pediatrics (ADHD/ADD) however, I see both children and adults with ADHD/ADD, Depression and Anxiety. Having degrees in both psychiatry and primary care, my experience and strength is often seeing the patient 'holistically.' Depending on the complexity of the case, it is not uncommon to require two (2) separate appointments to complete a very thorough assessment and evaluation.

My treatment methods

Mind-body approach

My philosophy of practice is often combining traditional medicine with holistic medicine. Every situation is different and every patient is different. Treatment options are discussed and individualized for each patient.

Psychoeducation

**IMPORTANT NOTE TO READ REGARDING NEGATIVE REVIEWS (ZOCDOC). We provide thorough assessments and evaluations. Patients who are seeking a quick prescription, demand certain drugs or expect immediate care for urgent problems, we would not be a good fit. We are an outpatient practice and more urgent cases are referred to intensive care facilities. Unfortunately in medical and mental health care, some patients become angry when their demands are not met and/or they are informed of information (a diagnosis) they don't want to hear, become angry and seek revenge by leaving a negative review. We are always professional, honest and kind-hearted.
