Hi, I'm Jasmin Ford, MSN, APRN-FPA, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing care for children, adolescents, and adults across Illinois. I believe every person has a story worth understanding, and meaningful treatment begins with listening before labeling. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care with genuine curiosity, compassion, and collaboration. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood changes, life transitions, or simply feeling unlike yourself, my goal is to help you understand what's happening and develop a treatment plan that feels realistic, personalized, and effective. Together, we'll work to reduce symptoms while building a life that feels healthier, more balanced, and aligned with your goals.

First session

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll spend time discussing what brought you to treatment, your current concerns, your medical and mental health history, past treatments, relationships, lifestyle, strengths, and the goals you hope to achieve. I ask thoughtful questions because I want to understand the whole picture, not just your symptoms. If medication is appropriate, we'll review the benefits, risks, and available options together so you can make informed decisions. If medication isn't the right next step, we'll discuss other evidence-based approaches that may better fit your needs. My goal is for you to leave your first visit feeling heard, understood, and with a clear plan for moving forward.

Strengths

Patients often tell me they appreciate that I listen deeply while also helping them connect the dots. I don't believe in rushing to conclusions or relying on one-size-fits-all treatment. I enjoy exploring the "why" behind symptoms and considering biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors that may be contributing to emotional distress. My style is warm and supportive, but I will also challenge unhelpful patterns when it serves your growth. I strive to create a space where you can be honest without fear of judgment while feeling empowered to participate in your treatment decisions. My hope is that every patient leaves sessions with greater clarity, practical tools, and confidence that meaningful change is possible.

Ideal clients

I work well with individuals who are ready to better understand themselves and actively participate in their treatment. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, burnout, mood disorders, life transitions, or major changes in work, school, or relationships. Some have been struggling for years without feeling like they've found the right answers, while others are seeking care for the first time. They value a collaborative approach where their concerns are heard, questions are welcomed, and treatment decisions are made together. Whether your goal is symptom relief, improved functioning, healthier relationships, or simply feeling more like yourself again, I'm committed to helping you create meaningful and lasting progress.

Treatment methods

Supportive

I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can openly discuss your concerns. Together, we'll explore your experiences, build on your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and create a treatment plan that supports your goals.
